Five ways to reduce trips to the fridge and other weightloss tips

Summer 2008 is finally here! It may be the most anticipated season of the year, with its high temps, short shorts, vacations to the beach, numerous barbeques and blockbuster movies. For some (like me) it is a painful reminder of what carbohydrate-fat-filled winter diets have done to our bodies. Winter was the perfect season to cover up with coats, scarves, gloves to hide our imperfections. Summer forces us to wear less clothing and reveal what we might have kept hidden during winter i.e. FLAB. I am on a quest to unveil my inner most abs and muscles that have been dying to come out. This is a short description of my journey to ultimate toneness.I don’t know about you but I LOVE food. I not only love it, but I adore it. If food showed up in a black tuxedo, well-polished shoes and a 10 carat ring I would marry it (LOL). But through the recent year I have discovered that you are truly what you eat. I’ve been hooked on to anything that is pro health and fitness. Trying to find out new ways to lose 10 pounds in a week and getting a six pack in 30 minutes. Then I realized that all these were just scams!! Have you seen those people in workout videos? Do you think that they actually got those hard bodies but doing 1..2..3…steps?? Show me the real workout suckers or give me back my money!!!I decided that there is no excuse in the world for me not to work out. I made up my mind to hit the gym 6 days a week and try out the equipment. It is very intimidating when you enter a gym for the first time and have all those huge mirrors and people stare back at you. I always say to myself “Act like you know what you’re doing and people will think you’re a pro!” I started out by walking and now I’m kind of running. It’s quite challenging when you’re mind wants to keep going but your body is screaming “Get me out of this machine you idiot”. But it’s fun because of the high that you get after a workout and also a certain sense of accomplishment. Needless to say I am quite disappointed sometimes when I don’t see immediate results, or when the scale is being stubborn. But other times, I notice that things are not jiggling and wiggling as much as they used toJ. I hope that I will be inspired to keep moving all year round.
